WHAT TO EXPECT?
I know you probably feel nervous about your boudoir session, especially if it’s a first time experience for you. I will quickly put you at ease, and all your questions will be answered. Once you start posing, you will be more comfortable with each click of the camera. Young women as well as middle aged and mature women, feel empowered when they see the beautiful results of their boudoir photography images. What begins as a nervousness soon turns into fun as you learn to pose like a model, change outfits, fix hair, retouch makeup and pose again. Expect your session to last approximately 1-1.5 hours.
NUDITY – You chose how risqué you want your images to be. You can chose playful poses that are both enticing and modest. Many women are not comfortable disrobing in front of a photographer. Beauty and sexy poses are easily accomplished without removing all of your clothing. Some of the most beautiful poses will stimulate the imagination of your loved one, while still protecting your modesty. During your shoot, I will guide you through poses that display only as much skin as you choose. Your comfort zone will always be respected.
POSING – The posing will be fun, because I will teach you to pose in the positions that best flatter your specific figure. A boudoir photo shoot is about making you feel sensuous, gorgeous and comfortable. Your session is an opportunity to relax, have fun and be totally beautiful.

WHERE DO THE SHOOTS TAKE PLACE?
Most boudoir sessions take place in my home studio which has gorgeous natural light. I also have professional lighting to fill in where necessary. If you would be more comfortable in your own home, let me know and we can discuss if your home would be a good setting.
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION TAKE?
The average boudoir session is about an hour long, sometimes and hour and a half. Depending on the package you chose, you can bring a couple outfits, and I will provide accessories.
DO YOU OFFER MAKEUP/HAIR SERVICE?
I offer add on packages for hair and makeup including lashes. Hair services are charged accordingly to needs and hair length. Please contact me two weeks in advance of your shoot to secure a hair and makeup artist.
I DON’T KNOW HOW TO POSE, WILL YOU HELP?
Absolutely! I have learned how to pose a woman’s body for their body types to look amazing and bring out their best assets. Good posing, and good lighting is everything for boudoir photography and I’ll make sure you get the best of both.
WHEN WILL I SEE MY SESSION IMAGES?
Images typically take 2-3 weeks to edit, once your basic edited images are done, you will receive an email gallery link to view your images in a private gallery. To select the images you want to order, you click on the heart button on each image you want, then final edits are done on each image before delivery to you.
IS MY SESSION PRIVATE? DO YOU SHARE MY IMAGES?
I love to share my clients images as it helps show potential clients my style, and also I just love sharing how beautiful my clients are. That being said, if you are not comfortable with people seeing your images or would only like them to see images that do not show your face, please let me know. I want you to feel comfortable with your session.
DO YOU OFFER RETOUCHING? CAN YOU REMOVE SCARS, BLEMISHES, ETC?
Yes, of course! We don’t retouch the images until you order them but any image you purchase we fully retouch for you. This includes scars, blemishes, stretch marks, cellulite etc. If you have a specific concern, please let me know about it.
GETTING READY
These small tips will make a big difference and help you get the most out of your boudoir session
HAIR – Depending on the length of you hair, you may chose different styles for each of the outfits you wear. Wash and condition your hair early in the day of the session. Allow plenty of time so you are not rushed arriving at your appointment. Bring your brush, comb, curling iron with you.
MAKEUP – It’s important to apply makeup a bit heavier than you normally wear it to accommodate the studio lighting and create a dramatic look. False eyelashes enhance the romantic mood of your images.
NAILS – Plan your manicure and pedicure for a day or two before your boudoir session to assure colors are fresh and bring. Chose a neutral color to compliment all clothing choices.
SKIN – Resist the urge to tan, either in a tanning booth or with spray tan. You can get red areas from the tanning booth and uneven color from a spray tan. You want your skin to have an even tone for your session. Be sure you remove all body hair from any area that may be exposed in your photographs. Hair removal should take place the day before your session to eliminate the risk of fresh redness on your skin. Moisturize your skin for several days to avoid a dry or scaly appearance.
CLOTHING – Avoid wearing tight clothing or underwear as it will leave red marks and indentations on the skin. Choose soft fabric that won’t cause any redness between clothing changes. Don’t be afraid to try something new. If you have never worn a teddy before, buy a pretty one just for your boudoir session. Choose some or all of the items in the following list and add your own ideas:
- Assorted lingerie
- Lacy teddy
- Garter belt and nylons
- Sexy dress
- Halter or tank top and short shorts
- Chunky sweater and thigh high boot socks
- Mens tie, button down or plaid flannel with panties
- Don’t be afraid to wear high, platform stiletto heels! Heels will show off your butt, define your calves and add curves.
Your boudoir shoot is about what makes you feel sexy and beautiful and I will assist you with suggestions and props to make it a fantastic experience.
