It’s an honor to photograph anyone’s proposal, but it’s a special privilege when asked to capture a fellow photographer popping the question. Most people only experience a marriage proposal once in their lifetimes, so you want it to be perfect. And Dave Gillette did just that. He created an elaborate plan over 6-months which turned into the most EPIC proposal ever. Traditionally, hundreds of locals meet on top of chair 4@4 for the biggest end-of-season bash in the Rockies. Like all closing days here, it was one to remember. As the ski patrol detonated their leftover avalanche explosives from the season, friends unrolled a huge “Will you marry me?” sign and Dave got down on one knee in front of Megan, explosions going off behind them. Megan said yes! The sun came out, friends sprayed champagne and ambushed the couple wrapping them in the banner for the biggest group hug ever. I can’t think of a more romantic, unforgettable way for Vail locals to celebrate. Congratulations Dave and Megan and thank you again for asking me to capture your special day.
