Please take a moment and read below to ensure your session is a success.

WHAT I EXPECT FROM YOU

Relax, have a good time and feel comfortable. Set the tone by leaving some breathing room in your schedule. Please show up to your session five minutes early so you will not feel rushed.  In photography, the “golden hour” is a period shortly before sunset during which daylight is redder and softer compared to when the sun is higher in the sky. I am a natural light photographer. It is critical to show up on time as the sun dictates how and why I shoot.

WHERE IS THE BEST LOCATION FOR THE SESSION
The location is determined by the type of session, and of course from your outfits. There are several places I know would be great for what you may be looking for but I’m always looking for new spots. Feel free to select your own location that you’ll feel most comfortable and relaxed in. When scouting locations, I look for open shade, interesting angles and background layers that add depth. I love photographing in places with a lot of greenery, beautiful parks or around rustic buildings/barns. Please be mindful of day usage fees which you are responsible for.  I travel within 20 minutes of Eagle, CO at no extra charge.

HOW CAN I MAKE SURE I LOOK GOOD IN MY PHOTOS

Trust your photographer. If you are relaxed and confident, it will come through in your photos. Questionnaires, style guides and consultations are available to ensure the look of your session. Get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water the night before.  Lastly, remember insecurity kills all that is beautiful. Have you ever deleted a photo of yourself because you were unhappy with the way your body looked? How many perfect photos have we deleted because we can’t accept the way we look in the moment? Love your body,  learn to accept what is right now and be brave enough to say, “This is my beautiful body and I love it.”

WHAT TO WEAR

I recommend selecting colors that complement each other and go with the season during a photo shoot. Annie from PAINT THE MOON has great advice on what to wear, “Layers and textures are beautiful and create interest in photos. Don’t make everyone wear all the same color…matching is boring and dated. Coordinate but don’t match. Start out with a basic color palette and go from there. It can help to have one “rock star” in the photos who carries a pattern in their outfit that the rest of the group’s clothing or accessories pulls from, while keeping everyone else’s outfits more simple.” Stay true to your personality and style!  Always wear what makes you feel most comfortable.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER TURNS AGAINST US

If it is raining on the day of your outdoor session, I recommend waiting until the very last minute to reschedule. Overcast days give the best light and you never know when a rainbow will pop up! If its actively raining or snowing, we’ll reschedule for another day, usually within the next week.

INVESTMENT

Custom photography is a gift that will last a lifetime. Session fees include photographer’s time and talent, pre-session consultation, extensive post-session editing, portrait preview, online gallery hosting, order preparation and fulfillment, and custom design work. Each session fee is carefully calculated taking all of these aspects of custom photography into consideration. Prints and products including digital downloads are sold separately.

If you don’t wish to print your images through my lab, you can purchase the high res digital files of your favorites and take elsewhere to print. However, you have to promise me you’ll display your photography with luxurious prints instead of letting them die in cyber space 😉 As incentive, I include the high res digital downloads with minimum print orders. To be completely honest, I am a service based photography business, not a product based business which means I make very little money on print orders. I offer products but my business doesn’t hinge on it. Therefor, I’ve created a competitive price list comparable to nearby 1-hour photo centers, yet the quality of my professional printer is FAR superior. They color correct, use premium paper and premium inks. I stand behind the quality of my printer 100% and guarantee their work. If you take your images elsewhere, I can’t guarantee anything.

HOW TO BOOK/RESCHEDULE

I am available for sessions weekdays and weekends. Please contact me 1-2 weeks in advance of when you’d like to reserve your date and time. The session fee is paid in advance to secure your chosen date. Session fees are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation, but may be transferred to another date if 48 hours of notice is given. Call Jen Winkeller at (970)306-8096 or email jenwinkellerphotography@gmail.com. If you need to reschedule your session for any reason, please contact me within 48 hours to avoid the $100 cancellation fee.

HOW TO ORDER

After completing your session, I usually post a sneak peak on Facebook within a few days. The rest of your images will be ready to view in two weeks. Viewing is made available with a custom, password protected online gallery, enabling distant friends and family members the opportunity to share the experience and order prints. Online viewing is available for 90-days to anyone you choose to share your password with. Orders must be placed within 90-days from your session date. Orders not placed within 90-days will be subject to a $100 digital storage fee and potential print price increases.
